RouteBasic

Free route planning software for field services, food delivery, or anyone who runs their own routes and has to deal with last minute requests.
RouteBasic

RouteBasic is a free route planning app built for couriers, field service workers, food delivery drivers, and anyone else who manages their own routes and handles last minute requests. Drivers add and optimize their own stops directly in the app, while admins can monitor routes, stops, completion times, and photo proof of delivery from the backend.

What sets RouteBasic apart from other delivery management apps is that it's both completely free and driver centric. Rather than a dispatcher pushing stops out to drivers, drivers add their own stops as they go.

Driver app

The first screen drivers see is a stop listing, divided into tabs for active, completed and failed deliveries. Drivers tap the [+ Stop] button on the top right to add a stop.

Each stop requires a valid address at minimum, but can also include additional details such as a contact name, phone number (so the driver can call ahead), email address, notes, and payment amount.

Route optimization

To optimize the route, the driver taps the [Optimize Route] button, which reorders the stops from nearest to farthest. The distance between each stop is displayed so drivers know how far they'll need to drive between them. Drivers can also view the optimized route on a map.

Customer notifications / navigation / proof of delivery

Tapping the [Send ETA] button sends the customer a short text with the driver's estimated arrival time (provided a phone number was added to the stop). To navigate to the next stop, the driver taps the [Navigate] button, which opens directions in Google Maps or Waze.

When completing a stop, the driver can mark the package as either Received by Person or Safe Dropped, and can also attach a photo and signature as proof of delivery.
